My name is Theresa Kovary and I am Co- Treasurer of the PS 185 PTA along with Kathryn Vlakic. This past school year, our first at PS 185, I had the privilege to work alongside Kathryn as a class parent (we are an excellent team!) and to be involved in this beautiful school community through many spirited events and fundraisers. I’m inspired by the level of participation, passion and advocacy this parent group commands. I am a mother to two daughters, Stella (6, first grade) and Charlotte (3K) and have a deep interest in the future of this school for many years to come.

I am an Associate Real Estate broker of nearly 15 years in a prominent NYC brokerage, President of my cooperative board, and have been a member of my churches finance committee, all of which give me the tools to serve competently as your Co- Treasurer. I am a creative thinker with a philanthropic heart and have performed countless projects/activities across my community demonstrating these traits. I am a lover of New York City and all the beauty, information, variety and freedoms it has to offer, and I strive for our children to instill the same.

There are many exciting new developments happening this year at PS 185, thanks to the robust level of parent participation. It’s a joy to be a part of this executive board and to represent this vibrant parent community.
