One Friday each month, PS 185 will host a FAMILY FUN NIGHT! Everything from movie nights, to crafts, to park clean-ups will happen during the family fun events! It’s a great way to build our PS 185 community and HAVE FUN!

plant sale

Every year in May our school hosts a plant sale - usually held on a Friday before Mother’s Day during the school day.

We will need volunteers to help set up / unload plants off the truck + sell throughout the day. Signup sheet to follow!

Book Fair

Join us for a world of imagination at our Annual Book Fair!

It's a two-day celebration of books, learning, and fun. All classes attend the fair during the school day, and families are welcome to purchase books after school. All proceeds raise funds for the PTA.

teacher & staff appreciation

Every year in June on a date when the kids are off from school, but the teachers have an in person work day, the PTA hosts a catered luncheon at school to honor our teachers and staff.

If parents volunteer to come into school on this day, their children are welcome to come help too. We will need volunteers to help plan beforehand and to set up on the day of. Signup sheet to follow as we get closer to June.

We’re so excited to be your Apparel Committee Chairs. We’ve been working with local vendors and some very talented and creative P.S. 185 parents to bring you new spirit wear this year.

We’re always looking for volunteers to help. Whether you have a love for fashion, an eye for design, retail experience – or you’re simply someone who enjoys purchasing and wearing clothing – sign up today and we’ll be in touch to let you know about volunteer opportunities.

Twice a year this committee coordinates with a vendor to take school pictures of students and their class, which also serves as a fundraiser for the PTA.

Graduation

This committee coordinates all events related to the 5th grade graduation, including Chip Fridays, the graduation ceremony, lunch and trip.
